Lions, Tigers and Bears - Oh my - Ava's making animal sounds!

Ava LOVES books! She loves to read them to herself (sometimes even upside down!), show them to us, share them with Emma, but most of all she loves being read to, especially at bedtime. Mommy and Daddy love the "books at bedtime" time too because Ava is finally still long enough to cuddle with - these days the cuddles are harder to get because she's always on the go! But when we get them they're the BEST!

Ava knows LOTS of animal sounds...the cow (moo), sheep (baa), rooster (ka ka do), duck (duh - ok so it's not quack, but she's trying to say duck!), snake (sss - rubbing her hand on her belly), butterfly (fff - flapping hands like butterfly wings), bee (bzzz - rubbing hand on her belly), dog/puppy (wuff), kitten/cat (mew mew), elephant (boo - moving her arm up in the air like an elephant trunk - SO CUTE), tiger/lion/bear (rraahhrr) and her newest one...monkey (she puts her hands in her armpits and says "oo oo ahh").

She also says "Pa" for Grandpa (PaPa), "Na" for Grandma, "Key" for Melisa (we call her Ski), "How" for Carl (we call him Uncle Howie), "Ma" for Emma (our dog), "Da" for Ryan, and "Ma" or very soft and sweetly "Ma Ma" for me - melt my heart!

She also says baby "baaaby", ball, more "moe", book "boouh", bye bye, uh oh, and hot. Sometimes we swear she says other words and even sentences...like the other day I thought she said the word strawberry as she pointed to a picture of one...and Melisa thought Ava said "Key (Ski) I love you" as she gave her a little piece of chocolate.
We know the words are in there - it's just a matter of time and we're going to have a little jabber box on our hands!

(Besides saying Ma and Da Ava's first word was book)

She still communicates through sign too - more, thank you, and eat are the main ones she'll still use. Oh and she puts her finger up to her lips/nose and blows out air when she thinks someone is sleeping or you need to be quiet - It's hilarious! She also waves bye bye and blows kisses - too cute!

She loves watching movies and TV when she gets the chance. She will pat her legs and say "puh puh" when she wants to watch a movie - it's cute, but not when you have to tell her "No movies right now." She's quite persistent and she's at an age where she knows what she wants and she's going to make sure you hear it! Her favorite is the Wonder Pets - which is where she got the "puh puh" and clapping from the intro song. Ava's movies are cute, but not when you get the music from them stuck in your head all day long!

It's just amazing how much our little baby has learned in the past year and a half! It's so much fun - It seems like there's something new everyday!
